The territory and its history

The Pantaro Court was one of the Hunting and Leizure Estated of the Farnese Dukes (The Dukes of Parma and Piacenza up until 1859). It was the exclusive holiday destination of many noble Parma families, including the Malaspina, the Recordati, and the Dall’Asta Count, who gradually changed the venue into a large farmhouse with gorgeous vineyards, crops, and vegetable orchards.

A river land

In Pantaro, amid karst springs and irrigation canals, the Renaissance Court stands in a country park with rows of local trees marking the land divisions, ancient roads, and Roman land amelioration works that are still in a good preservation state.

The untouched river and karst spring landscape are framed by fertile farms, and vineyards in a wealthy natural setting beautified by skilful man's works.

A system of cultural excellences

This is an area rich of culture and history,  marked by Matilde di Canossa Castles, close to Parma and the homeland of Giuseppe Verdi, 15 km away from Reggio Emilia and its three opera theatre, 40 minutes drive from Modena its meddle-age dome and Ferrari museum, and 40 km from Mantoa with plenty of Renaissance architecture.

The Cultural and Historical value of this Complex has been recognized by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage that will be supporting an intervention of extensive consolidation and restoration.  This is a great opportunity to preserve and enhance its unique characteristics.

The network of museums in Emilia-Romagna and their collections counts above 500 museums, galleries and the like for a multifarious and enthralling panorama.

THE MUSEUMS

The Renaissance Court of Pantaro is located one hour drive from the Tyrrhenian coast, in the centre of a cultural location hosting the wonderful Ducal cities of Mantua and Sabbioneta, Parma and Modena, the lands of Giuseppe Verdi, and the castles of Matilde di Canossa.

THE THEATRES

The Technology Poles are a group of 10 structures located at 20 different places scattered across the territory of the region Emilia-Romagna, and collaborating with other entities from other districts and regions. The Poles accommodate and organize various activities and services dedicated to  industrial research, experimental development, and technology transfer.

THE TECHNOLOGY POLES

The hunting lodge is located down the road to the castle of Matilde di Canossa, and to the Renaissance castles in the region Emilia Romagna, just one hour away from both the Tirrenean and Adria coast of Italy.

MATILDE'S CASTLES

The Appennini mountains in the districts of Parma and Reggio Emilia are included in the National Park of the Tuscanian and Emilian Appennini mountains.

The main tourist destinations are easy to reach by driving on the A15 (Cisa Highway) and the other roads connecting the main cities with other province capitals through the Appennini mountain passes.

The complex of the Court of Pantaro is still presently the centre of an area that the locals call the “Good Land” estate: a vast county where truly good Emilian food originates.
